Name: Max Birthday: 6/15/1982 Gender: Male
Interests: I must say I dabble in an assortment of activities spanning from film to music (although I am not much of a musician) to sports like basketball and curling. I also knit a mean afghan. Expertise: I wouldn't say I am a expert at anything at this point in my life, but I aspire to be a great film maker one day. I am pretty serious about this one. I think it is safe to say that I am finally way over the "I want to be a pro wrestling fireman that plays in the NBA on nights when he doesn't have a sold out show to rock" stage. | I realize I never post. But making movies and getting married and whatnot tends to take up all the free time. It's great!
Anyway, our film "Camp Manna" is finally finished. It will be running through festivals for the next year or so. Check out the official site at:

| I'm back in Charlotte (but coming home tomorrow) and my brain is gone. This whole fall has been one project after another and I am ready to be home for a while and spend time with my girl. And all of you other folks too, don't get me wrong, it's just that I don't like you guys like that.
At the begining of the fall I decided to do something a little different in an area of my relationship with God. Actually I've probably been gradually been doing a lot of things different, but this has stood out to me in particular. It had to do with finances. I always wanted to be in a position where is was really excited about giving (money) but I never really found that much joy in the way I had been doing it. It was not that I was against it, it was more that I wanted to be somebody that was excited about giving, like the Bible talks about. So I switched it up a little ( I know that's vague) and really was up front with God that I didn't know if what I was doing was what he wanted, but I was willing to test it out. Quite often the ol' Biblio talks about testing stuff we are not sure we understand. I think a lot of us have grown up wiith a mindset that exploring our faith is wrong, that it is somehow displaying disbelief, when in fact it is this very thing that allows us to take ownership of what we believe and why we believe it. Anyway, long story short I truely believe that this is the reason that I have been so busy this fall. And it isn't just that, I have been given and opportunity (along with my friend and co-director Eric Machiela) to direct a film that is going to be seen by tens of millions of World Cup fans worldwide. And the best part is that the message of the entire project is based around giving people an opportunity to explore what God's love is all about. I never could have imagined, even just a year ago, that I would be able to fuse my passion for film and faith in a way that only God could have orchestrated.
After these past months of globe circumventing FIFA madness, I have such an apreciation for the biggest sport in the world. To bad all the football (soccer) fans live everywhere but the U.S. I guess it will be a lonely World Cup party. | | |
| So
they cancelled Arrested Developement, a show the public never really
got into very much. Apperently the tv watcher would rather see the wit
filled masterpeices Joey and American Dad. Those are really good shows,
whereas Arrested Developement sucks.
But it's cool, I think the average media savvy American really
has a solid grasp on what should be considered good. Songs like "Look
at this photograph" and "My Humps" are pretty solid achievements. On
that note I leave you with the genius lyrics of "My Humps:"
[Will.i.am]
Whatcha gonna do with all that junk All that junk inside your trunk
[Fergie]
I'ma get get get get you drunk Get you love drunk off my hump My hump my hump my hump my hump my hump My hump my hump my hump my lovely little lumps
